If you're moving from Pipedrive, Zoho CRM, or ClickUp to Attio, you need to export your CRM data first. Each tool has its own export flow, but the goal is the same: get contacts (or people), companies (or organizations), and deals into CSV or a format you can import into Attio. This guide covers how to export CRM data from Pipedrive, Zoho, and ClickUp so you can migrate or back up your data cleanly.
Exporting from Pipedrive
Pipedrive organizes data around Deals, Persons (contacts), and Organizations (companies). To export, go to your data type (e.g. Deals), use the list view with the filters you want, then use the Export or "More" menu to export to CSV or Excel. Export Deals with pipeline stage, value, close date, and linked organization and person. Export Organizations with name and any custom fields. Export Persons with name, email, and linked organization. Pipedrive's export includes custom fields you've added; include those so you can map them to Attio. For large datasets, Pipedrive may support bulk export or API — check their current limits and docs.
Exporting from Zoho CRM
In Zoho CRM, you can export records from each module (Contacts, Accounts/Companies, Deals). Open the module, apply filters if you want a subset (e.g. active deals only), then use the Export option. Choose CSV or Excel and select the fields to include. Export Accounts (companies) with name, industry, and custom fields; Contacts with email and account link; Deals with stage, amount, close date, and related account and contact. Zoho's stage names may differ from Attio — note them so you can map on import. Zoho also offers backup and data export from settings for full account data.
Exporting from ClickUp
ClickUp is a productivity and project tool that some teams use for deals or CRM-like lists. Export options depend on your setup: use List or View export to get tasks/items to CSV. If you use custom fields for deal value, stage, or company, include those in the view and export. ClickUp doesn't have a native "CRM" export like Pipedrive or Zoho — you're typically exporting a view of tasks or a list that you've adapted as a pipeline. Map task properties to Attio objects (e.g. task name → deal name, custom field "Stage" → Attio stage) when you prepare the CSV for import.
What to include in your export
For any source, include: identifiers (name, email, or ID), stage or status, value/amount, dates (close date, created), and links between records (e.g. deal → company, contact → company). Include custom fields you use for segmentation or reporting. That way when you import into Attio, you have everything you need to map and deduplicate.
Preparing exports for Attio import
After export, you may need to normalise the CSV: align stage names with Attio's stage values, ensure dates are in a consistent format (e.g. ISO 8601), and remove or separate test data. Import order in Attio is usually companies first, then people, then deals — so organize or split your exports accordingly. Our guide on importing CRM data into Attio walks through the full import and mapping process.
Deduplication and cleanup
Exports from Pipedrive, Zoho, or ClickUp can contain duplicates or legacy test data. Before or after import into Attio, run a deduplication pass: merge companies by domain, people by email. Remove or archive records you don't need. Clean data keeps your new CRM reliable from day one.
How to keep your CRM data clean
Get your Attio structure ready before import
Generate your Attio schema with Wkspace
Before importing from Pipedrive, Zoho, or ClickUp, define your Attio schema — objects, stages, attributes. Wkspace generates a complete Attio structure in about 60 seconds tailored to your business. Then you import your exported data into that structure and map fields. That way you migrate into a CRM that's already set up for how you sell.
Frequently asked questions
Can I export only open deals from Pipedrive?
Yes. In Pipedrive Deals, filter by pipeline and stage (e.g. exclude "Won" and "Lost"), then export. You get a CSV of only the deals that match the filter. You can also export all deals and filter in a spreadsheet.
Does Zoho CRM limit export size?
Zoho CRM may limit the number of records per export (e.g. 5,000 or 10,000 per batch depending on plan). For larger datasets, export in batches (e.g. by date range or segment) or use Zoho's bulk export/API if available. Check Zoho's current documentation for limits.
How do I get "companies" out of ClickUp?
ClickUp doesn't have a native Companies object. If you stored company names or data in a custom field or linked list, export that list or view and use the company column when you build your Attio import. You may need to create a companies CSV from unique company names in your deal/task export.
Do I need to map Pipedrive stages to Attio stages?
Yes. Pipedrive stage names (e.g. "Qualified", "Proposal") may match Attio conceptually but not exactly. When you prepare your CSV for Attio import, normalise the stage column to use Attio's exact stage values. That avoids "unknown stage" or failed imports.
